A normal ghoul makeup is just a quick air brush. the makeup artists normall put a dark color under the eyes and dark over the "worry lines" in your forehead. Then each artist does something different. One artist may want to do vains. another may want to make you ghostly white. others love to put blood on. The blood is made of Karo Syrup with red food coloring and corn starch that has all been heated to make it thick. The average ghoul makeup only takes about 5 minutes to get done.

The Haunted Castle Tragedy
I have recently read the book, "Doorway to Hell: The mysteries and Controversies behind the Haunted Castle Fire." This book told of how 6 Flags Great Adventure once had an attraction called the Haunted Castle where actors would dress up as "creatures of the night," and scare the guests that came through. It was built in 1979 and on May 11th 1984, the cstle cought fire and 8 teenagers perished. A group of 9 entered the Haunted Castle for the last 'go through' befor the fire. That means only 1 person made it out. In this book, the survivor tells of her friends last ill-fated momets.

This book also tells of of the after math of this horrific event and how (in some oppinions) the park mocked the event. They put up vertual games such as "Castle Escape" where guests would put on 3-D glasses and have to ecape the vertual burning castle.
The fire was started by a lighter that one of the workers was using to light his way down the long corridor toward the strobe lights. He ended up bumping into and igniting a foam rubber wall peice.
The book is very entertaining and i recomend it greatly. it's fasinating and very informational.

Burns
At Fright Fest there is a man who shaved his head and got burns done on it. This post will show and explain how they made the effect possible.
First, They dabbed Liquid Laytex on his head and layed tissues on it. As it began to dry, they pealed parts of it back to give it the effect of skin pealing off his head (as shows to the left). After this they put lotion on the rest of his skin and began to spray his head black. after spraying the black, they moved to red on his actual head (the spots they pealed back) and put yellow around each pealing. After all of the paint was applied, theu put the fake blood on the wounds to make it look more realistic and gross. Finally, they put Lubricant on his head to give it a nice finish.
In the end it looked like he had been in the electric chair quite a few times. He went with it and named himself Nikolai T. Coil after Nikolai Tessla who made the Nikolia Tessla Coil (an electrode that generates electricity)

Fright Fest
Fright Fest comes around each October at 6 Flags Great Adventure. The ghouls, ghosts, and monsters you have only seen in your night mares come out to play, feed, and horrify. NO ONE IS SAFE!
This spook-tacular celebration is one to remember. The ghouls roam the grounds of the park along with 3 haunted trails (The Asylum, The Demented Forest, and Zambora).
In The Asylum they use special effects such as strobe lights and creepy music to set the mood. The ghouls in there orange jump suits, doctors robes, and straight jackets (as seen in the picture to the left) begin to jump out at you and mess with your head.
In Zambora, guests witness creatures with unexplainable talents. A man (painted with stripes and scales) whom is part man, part tiger, and part snake bends his body in un-natural ways. A woman transforms into a gorilla (using merriors and special effects) right before your very eyes.
In the Demented Forest, guests witness strange characters such as Stony (a creature who is half human, half rock). Stony is the gate keeper to the demented forest and she won't be able to save you from what this trail has in store. A traveling fair has camped out in the forest. Sadly, things have taken a turn for the worst. The clowns have gone crazy and have been tormented by a masked figure and monsters of the earth. Creature (as shown on the right) is one of the many monsters of the earth who shows no mercy. They blend in well so you will never know if she is asleep, far away, or right behind you.
About half of the ghouls at fright fest have prosthetics and all of them have paint that is air brushed on every night. Blood is added once the paint has dried to make set the delightfully dead mood.
